Ability (applies to half vampires and vampires only): Disguise techniques: Riku can shift his body to look like someone completely different, sounding and looking like . The trick to his power is he has to see the person and meet them to actually be able to imitate them. However, Riku will not change into a girl unless completely necessary, because he claims it’s really “uncomfortable”. Otherwise, Riku disguises himself sometimes when going out at night, so that the hunters won’t attack him.

Character Personality: Riku is a usually calm and collected person, and rarely shows how he really feels. Not easy to trust, the teenager tries to stay away from anyone and everyone around him because he doesn’t want them to get hurt. Riku cares a lot for the people who are close to him, and does anything for them. Secretly, he’s a bit of a worrier, but he tries very hard to not let that show in himself.

Riku is actually a very gentle person. He doesn’t anger quickly and he takes care of people when they are hurt. He never minds when people say things about him, and sometimes, honestly believes them to be true. Riku doesn’t have a lot of self confidence due to things in his past, and gets very confused when people are nice to him.

Having been taken in to the orphanage as a small child, Riku has had a lot of experience with others, but still thinks he has a hard time making friends. However, Riku will always defend someone who is getting hurt, no matter what, because he believes that humans and vampires can live together in peace.

Character Description: Standing at about 6’1, Riku is pretty tall for his age. With long silver hair and green eyes, Riku is pretty skinny as well. Often seen in baggy jeans and black shirts, Riku’s looks stand out in a crowd, which was part of the reason he was picked on as a child. Sometimes he pulls his hair back to get it out of his eyes and he only wears glasses when reading.

Character Bio/History: When Riku was small, his father, who was a vampire (an infamous one at that, as the hunters could never catch him), left him and his mother in The World that Never Was. His mother told him it was because his father needed to get away from a dangerous place, but Riku still didn’t understand why his father had to be so far away, thinking that maybe it was something he had done. Later on, Riku believe his father to be a coward for leaving his mother.

When his mother came down with a horrible illness (he was 12 at the time), he tried to contact his father to get him to come home, hoping that would help his ailing mother. The father didn’t come home, for what Riku believed to be cowardice, because he was more scared for his well being. Riku’s mother died two years later, when he was 14. However, Riku still carries his mother’s beliefs with him, the idea that vampires and humans can love each other. He was a half-vampire though, and was still picked on because of that.

Since he was still underage, Riku went to the orphanage and was picked on terribly. His looks pretty much marked him as a half-vampire (and the son of an infamous vampire who ran away), and the kids picked on him as kids often do. That never really bothered Riku though, because he did have some friends at the orphanage, and that was okay with him. When he turned 17, Riku went to look for a job, as he was home schooled by the tutors at the orphanage. He still hasn’t found a job.
